Kun is an award-winning filmmaker with extensive experience in gaming and interactive storytelling. He has directed films, documentaries (including for BBC, Nat Geo, and CBC), multimedia projects (Burj Khalifa, 7 fingers, Microsoft, Changi Airport, AT&T), and commercials. He has also directed the cinematics/cutscenes for several AAA video games, such as Watch Dogs, Avatar, Far Cry, Prince of Persia, and AND1.
Throughout his career, Kun has been involved in many significant cultural touchstones. For instance, he was a concept artist on Star Wars Episode 1 and part of the team that created Lego Bionicle, which helped to make Lego one of the most successful toy companies in history. As an art director, he was involved in creating one of the first breakout successes on iPad, the indie video game Osmos, which won Apple's Game of the Year award in 2011 and also an Apple Design Award. The game has even been exhibited at the MoMa and at the Museum of the Moving Image in NYC.
His documentary work has received numerous award nominations, including for several Gemini and Gemeaux awards, a VES award. He is a recipient of a Canada Art Council Grant and a member of the Lincoln Center's Theatre Directors Lab.
Kun was born in Denmark to Chinese and German parents and is fluent in five languages. He holds a B.A. in Law and Economics and a M.A. in Design for Film and Television from the Royal College of Art in London.
He currently resides in Montreal and holds citizenship in both Canada and Denmark (EU).
